What is a save the date wedding invitation?
A save the date is something you send before your wedding invitations. It's essentially a heads-up to inform guests when the wedding will occur so they can prepare adequately. Save the date invitations give guests ample time to make travel arrangements, get time off from work and ensure they do not double-book your special day.
How far in advance should you send out save the date invitations?
When you send save the dates for your wedding will vary based on several factors. Generally, couples send out these invitations between eight and 12 months before the wedding date. However, you should send out save the date invitations even further in advance for destination weddings or holiday weddings, as these are more of a commitment and may require more planning from your guests.
