Growing up, I remember the frantic feeling I would get on St. Patrick’s Day, praying I could find something in my wardrobe with enough green on it to avoid getting pinched. While times have changed and children are probably not terrorizing one another for not showing any sort of “St. Paddy’s Day pride,” the tradition has stuck with me. I’m all about rocking a little green, which happens to be my favorite color!
This year, I’m going to up my St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans with a pop of green or maybe an entire head-to-toe green get-up so I’m not the only one at the bar decked in something black or neutral (I’m sorry, it’s a bad habit!). Wish me luck!
Stay on track with the trends
It's easy being green (with the right button-down)
I have never met a button-down I didn’t like. Sure, you may buy this for St. Patrick’s Day thinking it’s a one-hit wonder. But trust me! A button-down with a perfect stripe will take you through spring and summer. Worn open over a bathing suit with a pair of cut-offs and a great straw tote, you will look A+ at the pool. But back to dark beer and four-leaf clovers…
Knit'll bring you luck
Go bold or go home (I vote the 2nd)
Out of the the fields of Ireland
Really lean into the green
Coatigans make me happy because they’re the perfect layering piece and are easy for creating a polished look. As I’ve said, I’m always drawn to black or neutral but why not really lean in and throw on this green blazer? The flared jeans make it stylish, and no one will think you’re actually trying to dress like a Leprechaun.
Army green=subtly suitable
Top o’ the favorite looks
Have fun!
Last but certainly not least, this is the St. Patrick’s Day version of the ugly sweater party. It’s the play on words that does it for me, but also the fact that this can become your annual go-to AND a sleep sweatshirt is the ultimate pot of gold (def take some photos when you do wear it out, though)!
