We’ve waited TWO whole years for season 3 of Bridgerton to come out, and while I wish I was as patient about that as Penelope Featherington is about Colin Bridgerton, I’m not. (I’m lying—girl, you have a thriving career as a secret gossip columnist and he’s just a guy with a bulky cravat collection…YOU CAN DO BETTER.)

As we’re being served up season 3 this May and June, it truly is the perfect excuse to enter your Regency Era and throw a Bridgerton party for you and your besties! Bridgerton is no stranger to reimagining Regency hallmarks in a more modern way (like the string quartet version of “Wrecking Ball” and super colorful empire silhouette gowns) and neither are we.

Here’s a very modern guide (complete with my favorite Bridgerton-inspired goodies) to throwing a Bridgerton tea party!

4. The activities

Picture this: Social media is still centuries away, Lady Whistledown has not published a new missive yet and you’re a hereditarily blessed lady or gentleman with servants at your beck and call. In short, you’re bored. How do you solve this? By going out and touching some grass (AKA, playing lawn games)! Pall-mall is beloved by the Bridgertons and their milieu, and modern-day croquet is the perfect alternative to this. If lawn games aren’t your group’s cup of tea, dancing and board games are also perfectly proper options.

7. The invitations

Last, but certainly not least (actually, this should probably come first) are the invitations! If you’re thinking about just sending a quick “Hey, tea party this Saturday?” DM to your friends on IG, DON’T. This was the era of calling cards, dance cards and florals (so many florals), so set the tone before the party begins. All you have to do is add the date, time, location and name of your tea party to one of our invitations, customize it with a background, envelope and stickers if you go Premium, then send it out via text, email or shareable link. Even Queen Charlotte herself would delight in receiving one of these invitations!
