Well, originally this blog was supposed to be five perfect party themes for March, but we had to make it EIGHT — that’s how excited we are about all of these ideas. January… you’ve got all that “new year, new you” whatever stuff. February… Valentine’s… yeah, yeah. But, March… we personally think March is under-appreciated when it comes to party potential. It’s been a weird start to 2025… maybe we pretend March is the new January?

Let’s reset the vibes by coming together and celebrating, well, anything. Need some ideas to get started? Take a look to see eight epic party ideas to make March your month.

1. Lucky charm party 🍀

Sure, St. Patrick’s Day is the obvious first choice. But, this isn’t your average St. Paddy’s Day party. Let’s lean into the luck and charm of the holiday with a DIY charm bracelet party that is guaranteed to delight. Pro tip: everyone loves a good party favor, and everyone loves it even more when they get to pick it out themselves.

How to throw

  • Party details
    • The setup: After sending an on-theme invitation, gather your supplies. On the day of the party, make sure you have enough tables to serve as workstations, displaying the charms in cute bowls (or even martini glasses!). Want to provide some inspo for your guests? Put together collage moodboards in frames to give them some visual guidance.
    • The menu: Lucky Charms rice krispie treats are a MUST to keep your guests fueled while they craft their jewelry. Might we also suggest some Irish Colcannon? Our stomachs are growling already.

2. Spring chicken dinner party 🐥

Phew… Spring is *finally* here. Celebrate the season with this darling dinner party concept. We’re picturing a farmers market-informed menu, mismatched place settings, and a vibrant & bright color palette that sort of gives 🐞💐🌱🪻🪺… ya feel?

How to throw

  • Party details
    • The menu: Start with a big bowl of a salad dressed with lemon and olive oil (try arugula or your favorite spring mix, spiced up with some edible flowers). Next – we’re thinking a rustic focaccia. Main course is, of course, some sort of chicken (even a rotisserie one from the store laid out on a plate and surrounded by halved lemons), or feel free to make it vegetarian with a creative white bean recipe! Finish off the evening with a sweet treat — berries and whipped cream, apple cake, or a big homey platter of warm and gooey chocolate chip cookies!
    • The setup: Opt for handwritten menus at each seat (we love crayon on white paper or pen on brown paper — even try upcycling old paper grocery bags!). Plus, this party really comes together when every seat is a little unique! Source some vintage ceramic plates for cheap at the thrift store, or mix up your glassware to make this feel organically rustic!

3. And the award goes to… 🏆

It’s awards season! Put a spin on an Oscars viewing party by hosting an awards night for your friends. Think the “Powerpoint nights” all the girlies were doing on TikTok… but where you come up with awards for everyone in your friend group. Most likely to throw an awesome party? You

How to throw

  • Party details
    • The rundown: Start the night by rolling out the red carpet and having a little photoshoot moment. Let’s be real, we were all thinking it. Ok, now that that’s out of the way… warm everyone up with a specialty cocktail or mocktail to get in the mood! You can even have your favorite pop culture podcast on in the background. Once all your guests have arrived, it’s time for the big moment. Ahead of time, have each person come up with an award for someone in the friend group and add it to a presentation that you manage (so it’s a surprise for everyone else!). Load it up on the screen, then present one by one and give the recipients their trophies of honor!
    • The menu: Bags of popcorn, sparkly champagne, and whatever your signature dish is… call it your “award-winning _____”. We’ll go with our award-winning spaghetti & meatballs — but the main dish is totally up to you.

4. Bracket brunch 🏀

March Madness is upon us. Invite your crew over to fill out your brackets while enjoying some bacon and pancakes. Bonus: up the  fun by having guests bring something to add to a pot for the eventual winner!

How to throw

  • Party details
    • The rundown: We’re feeling like this is a casual brunch, that’s bound to turn a little competitive. Opt for an unstructured event with a table for bracket-filling and another station for a little Nerf basketball shooting competition so people can mill about as they please (and spend as much time on their bracket deliberation as they need to).
    • The menu: Pair the “March Madness Mimosa” with a spread of all your favorite brunch foods. With an orange slice garnish as a nod to a classic orange basketball, this is going to be a total slam dunk.

5. More daylight party ☀️

Well, we don’t love that Spring Forward makes us lose an hour of sleep… but we do love that it’s finally not pitch black when we drive home from work. Pair a sunshine-y invitation (we’d edit the text on this baby shower design to work for this theme) with everything light!

How to throw

  • Party details
    • The vibe: Try citrus-related snacks or bevs (an orange cake, sangria, etc.) and maybe even add a dress code inspired by spring tones!
    • A fun spin: Hello, spring refresh. Add another level to the festivities with a “Spring Cleaning” or “Spring Planning” angle. For spring cleaning, add a note on your Invitation that you’ll act as a donation hub so guests can bring clothes from their seasonal closet cleanout, which you’ll deliver to a local donation center (or swap with one another). For spring planning, add some time for vision boarding for this next season (you just need paper, glue, scissors, and some magazines!).

6. Live from the French Quarter 🎶

Mardi Gras is Tuesday, March 4th this year! Turn colorful beads into unique garlands, order some beignets from your favorite bakery, and turn up the music — this theme is destined to delight.

How to throw

  • Party details
    • The playlist: We want to hear jazz, brass bands, and allllll the zydeco. The theme is: lively! So set the tone with some seriously swingin’ sounds.
    • The vibe: This party is all about good, old-fashioned fun. Try a bead toss to bring the fun of the parade to your home, decorate paper masks with glitter and feathers, and even throw in some mardi gras trivia to really get you in the spirit.

7. Girl Scout Cookie Tasting 🍪

We loooove Girl Scout Cookie season which means of course we had to have an entire party dedicated to these delicacies. Have each guest bring a box of their favorite flavor, and even level up this concept by encouraging everyone to come up with a fun drink that pairs perfectly with their cookie of choice! We recommend having The Parent Trap or Troop Beverly Hills playing in the background for a camp vibe and some sweet old nostalgia.

How to throw

  • Party details
    • The menu: Keep it easy — the centerpiece of this party is 👏the cookies. 👏 Channel the outdoors/Girl Scout vibe with a leveled up trail mix (sub in your fav rich chocolate), some grilled cheese bites (aka make a few grilled cheeses and cut ‘em into small triangles) … and there’s something so cozy about a warm mug of apple cider.
    • The vibe: This theme makes for an amazing adult sleepover. Try nostalgic activities like friendship bracelet making or get stickers and some tumblers to decorate — you’re definitely getting your “Pro Host” badge for this!

8. Spill the Tea party 🫖

The start of spring is the perfect time to throw a tea party! Been busy and haven’t seen your girls in a while? Invite the crew over to catch up (a.k.a spill the tea) and enjoy sweet sips + delicious little snacks or cookies.

How to throw

  • Party details
    • The menu: Shortbread cookies. White bread sandwiches slathered with cream cheese and thinly sliced cucumber. And, of course, endless varieties of tea!
    • We recommend: This theme lends well to a small gathering with close friends — you can totally size it up as a big party theme, but it’s a great casual concept just to get your people all in one place. Make that time together feel extra special and memorable by giving each guest a tin full of tea bags to take home. Tie it up with a ribbon, and you’ve delivered a little stress relief that’s easy to assemble and doesn’t break the bank!

Wow… March might be in the running for the greatest party month ever after this. Choose your favorite theme and connect with your people. Happy hosting!
