Sure, you’ll be totally cheesing after your team wins the big game this year. But, what if you could also be cheesing while you watch… see, this is the kind of little detail that we’re always thinking ahead on. Enter: our cheesy, easy, and decidedly delicious pull-apart bread. Oh, and did we mention it’s shaped like a football?? This dish looks majorly impressive but is shockingly easy to execute (unlike a flea flicker…). Check out the full recipe for these cheesy garlic bread rolls below!

Ingredients

For rolls:

  • 16-19 oz pizza dough
  • 8 mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1/2 tbsp milk (or 1 egg)
  • Flaky salt

For garlic herb butter:

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (melt and cool slightly)
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan
  • 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp chopped basil
  • Salt and pepper

To serve:

  • 1 slice cheese of choice (we love mozzarella)
  • Marinara sauce

Instructions

Recipe by Maddie Ireland from Munchin’ with Maddie

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut cheese sticks into 1 inch pieces (you want to have 32 total!). Divide pizza dough into 32 pieces.
  3. Press each pizza dough into a small rectangle. Add a chunk of cheese to the middle of each, then wrap the dough around it. Pinch to close and roll into a ball!
  4. Set balls seam side down on the baking sheet. This is the most important part… lay them out in the shape of a football! The outline of the ball uses approximately 16 dough balls, and you can fill the middle with the rest! They can touch, but don’t let them be too cramped.
  5. Brush over the top with milk or whisked egg. Sprinkle flaky salt on top.
  6. Place in oven and bake for 18 minutes. After, switch the oven for broil and broil for 2-3 minutes until golden. Leave to cool slightly.
  7. Mix together melted butter, parmesan, garlic, parsley, basil, salt, and pepper. Brush over the top of the rolls.
  8. Cut the slice of cheese into 7 rectangles — these are going to be your football laces, so cut accordingly. Place them on top to look like the laces on a football!
  9. Serve with warm marinara!
