The ultimate kids’ birthday party planning checklist

We’ve all been there before: It’s the morning of that big event you’ve been planning and you wake up with a gasp—you forgot to order the cake! Or maybe you’re already at the venue when it hits you—you never bought that paperware you’d been eyeing online! Ugh.
If you’re preparing to celebrate your little one’s big day, we know how stressful the party planning process can be. Staying on top of the venue, the activities, the food, the cake and the RSVPs can be quite the balancing act. With so many things to keep track of, it’s no wonder things slip through the cracks sometimes.
But what if we told you we created the ultimate kids’ birthday party checklist—with everything you need to consider all in one place? This list covers everything you need to plan a totally memorable (and seamless) kids’ birthday party.
How far in advance should I plan a kids’ birthday party?
On average, it is best to start planning your kiddo’s birthday party approximately three months before the big day. Getting an earlier start means there is less of a chance you’ll forget key elements. Plus, there’s more time to account for unexpected obstacles, like if your venue cancels or your decor order gets delayed. However, depending on the size and vibe of your party, you might start planning earlier or closer to the event.
