Real Parties: Laken’s 3rd Birthday Par-Tee

A golf-themed party is always a hole lot of fun, and thanks to mama Lauren Mulloy’s well above-par planning, her son Laken’s 3rd birthday party fits this concept to a tee. Here’s how she aced this beloved-by-all-ages party theme!

How the party came to life

Evite invitation: Golf Partee

Venue: Our home in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Cake and dessert: My mother-in-law makes cakes so she made Laken’s actual cake! We also had the most amazing cake pops by a local company, Coffee Comfort VB, and the yummiest cookies from Alexa’s Baking Co.

Food: We had a locally owned restaurant cater the party—BoBo’s Fine Chicken Restaurant—with fried chicken, tenders and seasonal sides! Nothing was left!

Beverages: Arnold Palmers to go with the golf theme! We also had a “watering hole” and a “19th hole” with water for the kids and beers for the adults! I purchased this golf cart decanter that we filled with scotch for the adults as well. 

Activities: I rented a 9-hole mini golf set that was a huge hit! 

Decor: Balloons from Pop VB, because you can’t have a party without them, and a backdrop from CW Creative Co. We also had these custom can coolers, napkins, cups, pencils for mini golf scorecards, plus these food and beverage labels, mini golf scorecards, dessert plates, metal golf baskets, golf club drink stirrers, and a golf ball centerpiece that I made using some faux grass and this ceramic container!

Favorite gifts received: Laken played with his monster trucks for hours after the party! 

Party favors: We had golf sets for the kids at our “Pro Shop” and personalized golf balls with Laken’s face and a sweet “Thanks for coming to my Par-Tee!” message on the back.

Outfits: The kids’ outfits were handmade by Wild Buffalo Threads.
