event description

Drawn from backgrounds in classical music, jazz, funk, ambient grooves, opera, rock, electronica, poetry, dance, theater, death-metal, world beats and sound, San Diego-based Pruitt Igoe performs April 13th at 5:00 and April 15th at 8PM.

Pruitt Igoe are poet/artist Ted Washington, mezzo-soprano Molly Wilmot, guitarist Jon Cordova, Chad Farran on percussion, Andy Geib on horns, and sampler Matthew Kerr on keyboards.

The debut CD “pruitt igoe ep” is receiving rave reviews. Michael Klam, in Poetix.Net, says that this “incomparable CD” “is both haunting and sublime” and “surreal beyond anything you’ve heard on a spoken word album.”

Pruitt Igoe has thrilled audiences in San Diego, Hollywood, and now at Bill's Place in Harlem. Admission to Thursday's open house performance is free. Soft drinks are available to buy or bring your own alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages. Saturday's show is $10.00 per person.

Bill's Place performance venue is located on the main floor of a four-story brownstone at 148 W133rd Street, between Lenox & 7th (look for the blue lights) and is available for performance or exhibit space rental.
