East Atlanta crowd catches the martini buzz at this laid-back hangout.

The Scene
All are welcome at Mary's, part friendly neighborhood bar, part dance party. Choose the narrow downstairs bar for mingling and dancing or the upstairs nook for lounging and looking fabulous. Although Mary's is nestled in the heart of East Atlanta, you won't find any grungy hipsters. This bar is all about mainstream dance music and an older, but hip clientele. The campy drink menu, with such popular Marytinis as the Virgin Mary and Something About Mary, works well with the upbeat, eclectic decor.

The Draw
The only gay bar in East Atlanta is hopping until all hours of the night, its DJs blaring the latest dance tunes to the accompanying videos. Patrons make the most of the small space: showing their stuff on the tiny dance floor, checking out the downstairs crowd from the upstairs bar or strutting their karaoke skills on Tuesday and Saturday nights.

Ask the bartender for a complete list of the potent martini concoctions.

Karaoke is so popular here it happens two nights--Tuesday and Saturday at 10:30pm. Get there early for a good spot.
