Reason to Come Back: Any of the soft-serve, or look in the case and see what's fresh.
"Since summer 1987 my standard of comparison for frozen creams has been the Ben & Jerry's factory in Vermont. Nothing else local comes near that unimaginable aroma and flavor of fresh cream from pasture-grazed cows. You need to taste for yourself.
Although custard adds a bit of egg yolk to make a smooth texture, letting aromatics evaporate from unsealed containers cannot compensate. I suspect this also compromises ice cream from even Mennonite dairies at the Windmill Market. Around here I sometimes get lucky visiting random stores serving fresh deliveries from Upstate Farms.
I like Abbott's pet water station, and yes, ice cream gets messy, but for their prices they can afford to keep their seats and tables along Park Ave cleaner."
