You are invited to the free Grand Rapids premiere of "What a Way to Go: Life at the End of Empire".

The film examines our present global predicament; as oil depletion, climate change, species extinction and population overshoot converge in a "perfect storm" of cataclysmic dimensions.

Described by Jan Lundberg of www.CultureChange.org as "perhaps the most important media message of our time", What a Way to Go, features interviews with Daniel Quinn, Derrick Jensen, Jerry Mander, Richard Heinberg, William Catton, Paul Roberts, Chellis Glendinning, Thomas Berry, Richard Manning and Ran Prieur.

The free film premieres on Saturday, April 19, at 12:30 p.m., at Grand Rapids Community College's Calkins Science Center at 226 Bostwick NE in Grand Rapids (map).  The film (125 minutes) will be followed by a community discussion, with the conclusion of the event prior to 4 p.m.  Capacity is limited to 150 people; RSVPs are required.  Free parking is available.

The events are sponsored by the Grand Rapids Community College Earth Club in coordination with Local Future, a nonprofit education outreach organization.
