Yule begins on the winter solstice, the shortest day and the longest night of the year. It is a time for each of us to put to rest the old lessons, battles and issues that need to be released. To let go of those things that hold us back and move on into the new year with a fresh view and perspective. It is a time to drink, dance and be merry to celebrate the coming new year and to forget about the dark, cold and snow outside!
If you have something you want to let go of from this year (Divorce papers, list of "bad" behaviors, etc) bring them along and we will let go of them in a ceremony and then burn them in the Yule fire. :-)

I've been invited to a dinner party that evening, but I'm sure you'll still be celebrating late enough that when I arrive, I can join the festivities. Patrick will be coming, also, and he will arrive ~7 and help start the fire.
Woo hoo! Love that it's that time of year again. We have Tim's company holiday dinner in Baltimore (expensive, boring) until 8:30 but will come on down to Rockville afterward - see you about 9:30.
Recent Matrix Level 1 & 2 in Baltimore -- live approx. 4 hours away (toward Va. Beach). Hope to make it and also to practice Matrix during the evening , too.
Will the Fire be early? I may be needing to leave sooner than I would like to drive back home.

I'm excited that you're having it a week earlier this year when I'm still in town. However, I have a dance performance that day?evening?night? I still don't know the time(s); but if I can, I hope to make it this year. It was so fun a few years ago when I came!
I am not an invitee, but I found your evite online through a search. I was looking for ideas on how to throw a Yule party. It seems like you know what you're doing in that dept! Can you tell me a little about what you have planned?

Michael, after replying, I went to put the date on my calendar. I hadn't remembered anything in December yet. However, our daughter, Meredith has dance concerts at college (in North Carolina)--2 on that day. I'm so sorry, I should have checked!

This happens to us every year, Michael... I'm sorry to say that I'll be in Arizona that weekend, fetching my daughter from her wilderness semester. Thank you for thinking of me anyway. ~Hugs!
