You're invited to a summer kick-off picnic! Invite your friends to join in on the fun!
The picnic will begin at 1:00PM with grilled food beginning to be served at 2:00PM. We have set an end time, but you can, of course, stick around after that if you'd like (we have the shelter reserved until 10:00PM).
We'll have some organized games, like a water balloon toss. We will also have various yard games available, but feel free to bring your own. There is a soccer/softball field near the shelter and a sand volleyball court on the other side of the park.
There will be a prize drawing. Prizes include a $25 gift card to Olive Garden.
Meat and veggie burgers will be provided. We are asking those attending to sign up to bring an item to contribute to the picnic. These items include chips, sides (noodle salad, etc.), fruit or vegetables, desserts, and beverages (soda and beer, lemonade will be provided).
Directions to the shelter: Enter on Thornton St. from Sherman Ave. and park in the lot near the tennis courts. (When driving on Sherman Ave, the Thornton St. entrance to the park is very close to the bridge by the Tenney Locks.)
I can attend the picnic and bring chips and dips. I can also help with the clean up. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the meeting tonight, because I have to babysit my nieces.
Heard about this from my church bulletin at St. Dennis. I have recently graduated from college and moved back to the Mad City. I excited to check it out enjoy great food, play games and meet new people!
