House Party to support Basic Rights Montgomery

Please join me for a fun evening at Chrissy and Amy's house as we help to kick off the campaign in Montgomery County, MD to oppose an anti-transgender ballot initiative.

I've been part of a team that has launched Basic Rights Montgomery (the name of our campaign).  We need to raise money - quickly - to give us the head start we need to beat the right-wing in our own backyard.

The Task Force contributed $20,000 earlier this month as seed money for the campaign.  But we know this effort will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and we've only got about five months to raise it - and to convince the people of Montgomery County to keep this important law on the books!

This is the first time our opponents have tried to put transgender rights on the ballot.  If they succeed in Montgomery County, who knows where they take these insidious campaigns next.

Please join me to learn more about the ballot initiative, learn more about how we're planning to defeat it, and support our efforts to hire a campaign manager and pay for some initial campaign needs.

If you can give more than that, I will be very grateful.  If you can't afford that just yet, please give whatever you can, and come anyway and learn about what we're doing.  We're going to need all hands on deck in the coming months as we get this campaign off the ground.
