It's that time of year again! Time for the annual pool party!!!
In the past, we've had the traditional American BBQ, Mexican fiesta, and Hawaiian luau themes. This year, the theme will be 'pool parties past, revisited'. Revolutionary! It'll be all the food hits from the past, combined into one summer menu. On center stage will be the superstar from last year's party, the Hawaiian roasted pulled pork!
I'll provide the pool, the pork (and a few side dishes), the use of my restrooms (which is strongly requested), shelter in case of rain (feel free to bring Wii games, as I only have the one it came with), suntan lotion, a keg of crappy beer, a cooler full of swamp frog, and the ever-popular pudding shots. Some homebrew might make an appearance, as well. For entertainment, feel free to pick on the neighbor's kids. I plan to try (try) to have the bar finished in time to provide us with lots of loud music (sad, but I've used this template for invites for the past 3 years, and the previous line has not yet changed...though the bar did actually make it into the basement this year, so progress!).
Also, all are strongly encouraged to participate in the 4th annual Pool Party Hash! That popular event will require walking/running shoes, clothes you don't care to get dirty, and a sense of humor. All are welcome to participate, and the hash is free for virgins! For those who have never heard of hashing, it is truly a unique (and hugely fun) experience. I mean, a scavenger hunt for beer?!? How can you go wrong?
You should bring your shining personality, a towel, any significant others or friends, some folding/camp chairs, whatever beverages you'd like if you're not a fan of crappy beer (no bottles, please, unless you intend to leave them IN the house (plastic cups provided)), and a side dish, if you'd like. If you don't mind, please post what dish you'd like to bring when you reply so we can avoid having too much of the same thing.
Kids are welcome to join us for a while, though they may be exposed to some drunken debauchery, so be warned...especially as the evening rolls on...
