On Sunday, March 2, 2008 the friends and family of Elyssa Koerner are hosting a gathering to benefit the Ellie Koerner Leukemia Fund.
On Saturday, December 22nd Elyssa Koerner a beautiful, strong 4 year old little girl was diagnosed with Leukemia. Since then the Koerner's world has been turned upside down. Ellie's currently undergoing treatment at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia with the anticipation of returning home after one month. She'll continue to receive aggressive chemotherapy as an outpatient for 6 months and then maintenance therapy for approximately three years.
Ellie's Family and Friends are pulling together to support "One Tuff Girl" through these times.
Tickets will be $30 for adults and $15 for children under 10. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Beacon Academy (address can be found below) and will also be available at the door upon entry. They can be paid for by cash or a check made out to the "Ellie Koerner Leukemia Fund." Live music, Chinese auctions, various raffles and a puppet show for kids will be some of the entertainment provided during the event.
Donations that are made to the Ellie Koerner Leukemia Fund will be used to cover medical bills incurred during Ellie's initial hospitalization, her subsequent impending hospitalizations and for her 3 years of outpatient chemotherapy treatments. A portion of the contributions will be donated to Children's Hospital to support other families during their time in the hospital and also to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Please pass this information along to anyone you feel may be interested in attending. A link to this evite and Ellie's CarePage can be found at www.onetuffgirl.com.
If you'd like to make a donation, please make all donations out to "Ellie Koerner Leukemia Fund" and mail to:
