When:
Saturday, January 24, 5:30PM
Oak Park River Forest Class of 1978 Alumni and their families are invited to an open skate evening at Ridgeland Commons Ice Arena Details
Part 1: Meet at Ridgeland Commons (415 W. Lake St.), in Oak Park for skating (or falling!) on Saturday, January 24 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Part 2: Afterwards, we will head to Jimmy's Place (7411 Madison St.) in Forest Park for food and drink (and recovery from bruised bodies and bruised egos!) COST: There is no upfront cost. Pay as you go that evening. RSVP's by January 3rd will be helpful for the restaurant. Spectators are welcome! Even if you've never skated before! I will be happy to have a supply of double-bladed skates available just for you :-)
Well Blades of Glory I'll be there! My Canadian coach Shae Lynn Bourne is working with me on my Triple Salkow. 5.9, 5.9, 5.9. 5.8, and a 3.2 from the Russian judge.
Think this is a great idea. I know that my daughter would go and love it, plus I'll probalbly need someone to help me up! Perhaps the guys would come too but most likely after the skate -- I'll update # as it gets closer.
I hope some of these get-togethers take place on days when I'm in/near town to visit the folks. My last visit fell between the reunion and Christmas.
Enjoy!
Rick this is a GREAT idea. I would love to go but I doubt I will be able to get to Chicago area till summer at best. I hope you get a good response. A good time WILL be had by all.
Thanks to Randy Vogel for the invite. I'd luv to attend but will use the excuses of 1 - too far away to attend (I live in Helsinki, Finland) & 2 - it's my son's 24th birthday (yeah right he wants to spend it with us rather then partying with friends!). Pls post any/all pics!
