Hosted by the 2007 TACL Summer Political Interns, Know the Issues 2008, will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2007, from 11:30am - 1:00pm at the Taiwan Center. Come watch as representatives from leading presidential campaigns of both the Republican and Democratic Party answer the tough questions as they relate to the upcoming 2008 Elections. Topics will include, but are not limited to Healthcare, Immigration, Education, Welfare, Social Security, Homeland Security, and the Environment. Have a pressing question? Know the Issues 2008 will shed light on specifically the key policy differences between the Republican and Democratic Party, as well as policy differences between party candidates. Debunk Asian American stereotypes about political inaction - its time to get involved and become proactive, informed citizens!

Since 1992, the TACL Summer Political Internship Program has sponsored college undergraduates for an 8-week internship program complete with leadership and cultural training. TACL places students in the offices of state and federal elected officials. Interns work to promote Taiwanese culture, heritage and identity while gaining a greater understanding of the American political system through active, hands-on involvement.
