ActiveRain Gathering & Jason Crouch Birthday Party!

Hi!  I am planning a get together for some of my friends from Austin and from ActiveRain for networking and to celebrate "The Day Before My Birthday".  This is an awesome opportunity to network with other AR members from around the state and at least one from out-of-state, too.

Even more importantly, you can avoid the gossip that will undoubtedly occur if you are absent.  Of course, I am joking (or am I?). 

County Line on the Lake offers some terrific barbeque and a very cool setting right on the water (see photo above).  Inside, it is very nicely air conditioned, and outside, it's fully shaded by huge trees on the grounds. 

Having lived in Texas my entire life, I know the importance of good A/C for my birthday parties.  We never wanted to risk sun poisoning by having an outside party when I was growing up - instead we spent a lot of time at movies and the skating rink.  But I digress...

Feel free to bring your kids if you want to - just let me know how many adults and how many kids to expect so that we can plan accordingly.  I will probably have my kids there for at least part of the time.  There are some small fish and turtles to feed, too. 

Please try to refrain from feeding your children to the turtles.

We'll have a large party room overlooking the water, and there will be all-you-can-eat turkey, lean brisket, and sausage, along with the usual side items (potato salad, beans, slaw).  Soft drinks, tea, and water will also be provided, and there will be a cash bar for those who want to partake. 

By "partake", I don't mean "get ridiculously plastered and become an instant YouTube celebrity".

(I am covering the food and location cost myself, so the only money required would be for beer or margaritas, etc.)


We will start around 2pm and we have the room officially until 7pm.  There is live music which will be outside from 6pm-9pm, so you are welcome to hang out afterwards and enjoy that as well.  I realize that this is a relatively long party, but at least one guest is coming from out-of-state and many are driving in from out of town, so I want to make it worth their while.

We will probably serve the food around 4pm or thereabouts, so you might want to have a light lunch before coming, or skip lunch altogether and fill up at the party.
