The Charity Chicks Chef Crew is at it again, this time serving dinner for homeless individuals who are staying at Star of Hope Mission's Transitional Living Center for Women and Families. This event is limited to 10 volunteer spaces.
If you would like to bring any items to donate to Star of Hope (completely optional), they are in need of spices, condiments, herbs and salad dressings to add to the meals. Their funding is tight, so they are not able to purchase those items.
Star of Hope Mission serves three meals a day, 365 days a year, at their three facilities for homeless individuals. Encourage and uplift women and children as you help with dinner preparation, set-up, serving and clean-up.
In 1988, Star of Hope Mission began the Transitional Living Center (TLC) to help prepare and train the homeless to become independent and re-enter the mainstream of society. Star of Hope is able to provide services to 66 families and 45 single women at TLC.
Important Guidelines from Star of Hope: - Sign-in at the front desk when you arrive and sign-out when you leave. - Dress comfortably, but conservatively. Shoes must have closed-in toes and closed backs. Shirts must have sleeves. Shorts are not permitted. - Bring a hairnet or baseball cap. If possible, bring your own apron. - Children younger than high school age are not allowed to volunteer or accompany volunteers. - Do not take pictures of the clients or their families.
