Since August is so hot, let's head out to the mountains and hike where there is a swimming hole. The White Oak Canyon trail has its own parking area outside the Shanandoah entrance, but is part of Shanandoah National Park. We will hike in and out for a 4-5 mile experience. Bring trail snacks to enjoy under the falls. Swimming and wading is usually part of the fun. We will meet in the church parking lot in front of the playground at 8:30 am.
There's a favorite burger and BBQ shop on the way home, but it will be a late lunch given commute, hike, and swim time.
What to generally bring for any event:
Water - approximately 2 liters
Rain gear or sunglasses and/or visor
Trail snacks
Money for meal at restaurant and/or gas money for your driver.
Camera if desired
Appropriate clothing for temperature and exercise
Recommend dry comfortable shoes/sandals for the trip home.

Church Website Proverbs 18:4
The words of a man's mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook. [NIV]
The words of a [discreet and wise] man's mouth are like deep waters [plenteous and difficult to fathom], and the fountain of skillful and godly Wisdom is like a gushing stream [sparkling, fresh, pure, and life-giving]. [Amplified Bible]
