Club 56 trip to Skid Row

We're going back to Skid Row... this time we're joining the big church to do a Christmas Giveaway. Bring nice (used) clothing/shoes to give away (Criteria: don't bring anything you wouldn't be willing to give to your best friend). Cost $12.75 adult / $8.51 child (round trip). Pay with cash or credit card at station. Visit www.metrolinktrains.com for more information. Destination: LA Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles. Itenary: We'll meet at the Metrolink Station and hop on the train -getting off at Union Station. From there we will take the Subway to 7th Street Metro Center where we'll take a Metro Bus (aprox. 10 city blocks), then walk four blocks to the Mission where we will have our distribution. After that we go back to Union Station. If there is enough time we will cross the street and eat some yummy Mexican food and do some sight seeing at the Historic Olvera Street. If not, we'll get on the train to head back home. Suggestions: We will do a lot of walking -wear comfortable shoes. Bring a sack lunch, water and hand sanitizer. Bring a jacket as it will get cold. You should carry some spending money in case we go to Olvera Street for Mexican Food. Leave all unnecessary jewelry and personal belongings (wallet/purse full of credit cards and wads of $100 bills) at home. This event is for Club 56'ers and a their families. It is not a drop off event! Each parent is responsible to supervise his/her own child(ren). "8:15 am Meet @ WOL (South Remote Parking Lot) to drop off donations then drive to Rancho Metrolink Station "11:00-12:00 Arrive LA Rescue Mission (San Julian parking lot) unload trucks, organize distribution areas and set up chairs for guests "12:00-3:00 pm Guests will be let in the lot (250 at a time). They will be given food to eat and then will sit down and wait for their turn to go through the distribution area. "3:30 Olvera Street (eat some taco's) "Dept LA Union at 4:45 pm (arr RC 6:00 pm) Change of original plans& Before going to the Metrolink station, drop off your donations at WOL (South Remote Parking Lot) and then drive to the train station.
