When:
Saturday, August 22, 11:00AM to 1:00PM
Fellow Tomato Gardeners and Tomato Enthusiasts...the time we all salivate over all year long is about to arrive and we're celebrating with a Tomato Tasting Event! We'll be at Roe Park which is just north of 435 and Roe in the East Shelter. I've reserved the shelter from 11:00 to 1:00 for us to enjoy the fruits of our labors this summer!
Please bring yourself, your significant other and your family...children are welcome! Also please bring along a variety or two or more of tomato from your garden. We'll slice up the different varieties and put them on labeled plates so everyone can have an opportunity to try out different varieties. There will be a special prize for the gardener that brings in the most different types of tomatoes for us to try!
You are also welcome to bring along your favorite tomato dish such as bruschetta, salsa, or anything other tomato creation you're especially proud of. Some fresh baked bread would be a good addition to the picnic for those of you that don't have a tomato garden of your own, but would like to join us anyway. Also, please bring a lawn chair to sit in the shade and enjoy the feast.
I will provide iced tea, soda, and water as well as plates, plasticware and napkins (some of those tomatoes are JUICY!).
Please RSVP with how many guests you plan to bring and I'll look forward to seeing you on the 22nd of August!
James

We only have one ripe tomato to contribute - there are a lot of green ones! We'll bring some basil, bread and cottage cheese. Looking forward to the party!

We love tomatoes! We are ashamed to say" No green-thumbs in our family". "We have planted 15 tomato plants this year, and got a total of 20 tomatoes" Will you let us attend without bringing tomatoes? We just do not have any..We want to learn. Thank you.
Thank you, so much James! I hope to pick my first tomotoe this week. I would have already picked one but a fuzzy tailed individual thought he would try them first! LOL. Sincerely, John.
Attendance is totally based on weather. If it's horribly hot, we'll have to cancel. Can't take it. Will bring an alternative dish, as tomatoes aren't that impressive this year. Thank you, MEB
