Tell President Obama to Save the Whales!
Show you love for the whales and join Greenpeace, EmergeMiami and other local organizations this Sunday, May 23, on South Beach for a rally and photoshoot to Save the Whales!
WHAT:
South Beach Save the Whales Rally and Photoshoot
WHERE:
Miami Beach, on the sand at 5th St, near the lifeguard stand.
WHEN:
Sunday, May 23, 3:00-4:30 PM
3:00 PM:
We gather at the south end of Lummus Park at 5th &Ocean Dr. for some prop assembly.
3:30-4:30 PM:
We hit the beach, make a scene and get it all on camera!
WHY:
The Obama administration will vote on June 3 to decide whether to overturn the ban on commercial whaling. Greenpeace plans on keeping public pressure on the White House to show that Americans still care about saving the whales! We have already submitted over 100,000 public comments in favor of keeping the ban in place. Now we are kicking it up a notch, hosting photoshoots and public rallies around the country, like this one in Tampa, or this one in DC.
Miami will have its opportunity to participate in a photoshoot for the whales this Sunday on South Beach! So Be There!
PARKING:
City Lot at 7th and Collins ($15 flat rate) or try your luck on the street. Parking will be at a premium on Sunday afternoon, so plan ahead appropriately!
