We will gather to celebrate and recognize the work and dedication of Councils past and present in support of the Library Master Plan.
Accomplishments Award winning Valley View e-branch and Garden City e-branch open with more than 25,000 visitors last year. Jackson Park branch and Gainsboro branch new community and study rooms, books, Teen Centers to be complete in early 2009-Tremendous improvements, faithful to the recommendations of the 2005 Comprehensive Library Study and responsive to the local needs.
Future Encourage Council in their continued implementation of the Library Master Plan which calls for a new "Superbranch" and a "Storefront" branch, both state-of-the-art model facilities for outstanding library customer service.
Action: Attend the celebration and bring a friend and a small book.
Why: Provide Council with a gentle reminder of the great constituency the Friends of the Library represent.
