A SOFTBALL TEAM OF OUR OWN...
I'm trying to get a team together for the women's league in Oakland. Pure fun and play in the summertime!
The deets: Teams typically play on Monday nights at 6:45, 7:55, or 9:05 mainly at a park near Redwood Park. Season starts June 22nd and is roughly 10 games long plus playoffs.
APIQWTC is graciously subsidizing us (thanks Deb and Koko) The cost is $50 per player for the season.
Please let me know asap if you are interested and which category you fit in:
1) Gamers: who want to play every game.
2) Subs: who want to play a couple of games to half a season.
Also let me know your level of experience. Depending on response cost may go down per person. Deadline for rosters are June 17 so lemme know!
I am not good, but I would like to participate. My partner would also like to play - Bethany Blackwell. If we have too many, we can switch off on each game.
I've always wanted to play, but I'm probably more on the beginner side. I think gamer at this time, may have to miss a few. I'm also interested in carpool. Thanks!
Have played on a few teams/leagues in my life but haven't played in a while (but still have my gear!). Gamer mostly, might miss a couple of games. Have played mostly infield. Have good fielding and batting skills.
Why is this exact thing what I've been looking for since I've moved to the bay in 2005? COUNT ME IN. Gamer. Played 2nd, 3rd, outfield in HS. Intramurals in college. I have a car and can help with carpooling folks. (I live behind Oakland High off Park Blvd.) I'm out of own from July 28-Aug 5th. Thanks for the opportunity!

I would be a sub. I have dragonboat on Monday nights until 7, so if you get the 6:45 slot I'm probably only available rarely.
Oh god, where is my glove? And I just gave away my (almost new) pants. I used to play catcher and outfield in HS... I'll have to talk to my chiropractor.. ;) I live down the hill from that park, so it would be an easy commute!
