Please join with other DFW Fuqua alumni to celebrate the holiday season...and help make a difference for someone in need!
This year the DFW Fuqua Alumni Club is pleased to partner with The Family Place (www.familyplace.org) in support of its annual Adopt-The-Shelter initiative. The Family Place is the largest family violence service provider in the Dallas area, reaching out to thousands of victims of family violence each year with award-winning programs that keep women and children safe.
The organization expects its emergency shelter to be full again during the holidays, and to give their clients an opportunity to participate in the festivities of the season a holiday "store" is prepared at the shelter where they can use vouchers to "shop" for items for themselves and their children.
We are asking you to please bring one or more of the following items in NEW condition with you so that we can make a contribution to The Family Place on behalf of the DFW Fuqua alumni community:
For the Ladies: Pajamas, Robes, Slippers - all sizes (especially larger ones), sweat shirts and pants, gloves and hats, toiletry gift baskets, picture frames, purses and wallets, makeup, perfume, nail polish, costume jewelry and watches.
For the Teens: Makeup, perfume, nail polish, costume jewelry, portable CD players, gift certificates to - Wal Mart, Target and fast food restaurants, craft kits, cards and board games, hand held electronic games.
For the Children: Dolls, games, Tonka trucks, developmental toys (e.g., Leapfrog), books (English & Spanish), clothing - especially coats, gloves, hats, pajamas and slippers.
A representative from The Family Place will be on hand to collect your donations and answer any questions you might have about their organization.
The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. in the bar area of the restaurant - a number of tables have been reserved for our group. Blue Mesa's famous - and FREE - quesadilla bar will be open until 7:30 and happy hour specials continue until 8:30.
I am a member of the FSB Alumni Council and would love to provide an update of current Fuqua initiatives. I would also love to gather questions or comments regarding those initiatives to pass on to Blair and his staff.
