It's time for our 8th Annual Heart Family Picnic in preparation for the Kansas City Area Heartwalk. We hope to have information packets regarding the heartwalk available at the picnic. All money raised by the CHD Families Company its teams will be earmarked for CHD Research.
This year the picnic will be held indoors at Platte Woods Church. Thank you so much to heart dad Kevin Ringo for setting up the location. Food donation and menu is being organized by heart dad Tyler Thompson. More information will be shared as it is available. Please notify me through answering the poll if you need vegetarian choices. Heart Dad Frank Arena will be DJ'ing again and Heart Dad Scott Klamm will be providing a 30 minute children's music program.
During the picnic, there will be a silent auction/raffle. Check the website for current listings of donation items and value. If you are interested in donating something for the auction/raffle, please contact mechelle@chdfamilies.org
We hope to display two quilts from The Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Quilt Project.
There is playground directly outside the eating area and children's games have been lent to us from Plant Hope for Hearts. Facepainting will be available for the younger ones. Children need to be supervised by their parents at all times due to safety issues.
There will be a small donation requested at the door. The cost will be $8.00 per person or $16.00 per immediate family. We are offering the option to pay in advance online. You may do this by clicking on the paypal button on invitation. The button says $16 per individual but it is per immediate family. Your donation will be refunded if you are not able to attend. The button will lead you to paypal where you can send the requested amount to donate@chdfamilies.org
It is absolutely necessary for everyone to RSVP by March 7th so we can plan accordingly. When you RSVP, you will be asked how many vegetarian meals needed for your family. Please fill that out as well.
You are welcome to invite anyone you like. Please forward this email and ask your guest to rsvp.
This is a germ free event. Please do not come if you are ill. We do not want to expose our CHD Survivors to unnecessary illness. Prepaid families will be refunding immediately by making a formal email request.
