When:
Tuesday, November 3, 6:45PM to 8:00PM
The Committee for Foggy Bottom and West End Neighborhood Retail* invites you, and all residents of the area, to a public meeting on November 3, 2009 at the West End Library on the future of retail in our Foggy Bottom and West End neighborhoods.
At the meeting you will learn the results of the survey conducted over the summer. Attendees will be able to add new and additional ideas, comments, and reactions to the survey.
Given the redevelopment projects in our neighborhoods, it is critical that resident interests be heard. Later this year, the Committee will publish a report on the community's preferences for future retail development. The Committee will present these findings to DC government officials and local real estate developers to influence their decisions directly impacting residents of Foggy Bottom and West End neighborhoods. Everyone is urged to attend this important public meeting. ------------------------------------------------------------
*The Committee was chartered by the Foggy Bottom Association earlier this year to gather input from the community on its preferences for the future development of retail goods and service offerings in our area. This is especially important given the pending redevelopment projects for the Stevens School, the West End Library--MPD Special Operations building--West End Fire Station sites and the former GWU Hospital site.

I would like to see the library housed somewhere in this complex and would use a health club with yoga, Pilates and full size lap pool a s well. I have heard that a Whole Foods will be in the GW complex and hope this is true. I thhink a movie complex right there at the metro station would be convenient and do very well.
can we discuss the affordable housing piece in the
development of Sq. 37? There is growing support
for workforce housing (people who serve the District
firemen, teachers but can't afford to live here.) The flip
side, of course, is the fear of another dormitory in the
immediate neighborhood.
Thanks Susan for keeping everyone informed about the redevelopment projects. It is really important that the Ritz community of residents actively participate and hopefully have some say in who our new neighbors will be.
