Update 8/30:  The YAF Yosemite trip is now full.  If you want to put your name on the wait list, please reply as MAYBE.  People on the wait list have the options of waiting for space to open up if someone drops out, or sleeping on the floor.

If you have signed up and decide to not go, please change your reply to this evite and call me at 650-454-0856.

We have 28 spots reserved in Housekeeping Camp.  The cost is $65 which includes meals and cabins.  Payment will confirm your place on the trip.  You can pay me in person at YAF, at church, Paypal to ed_jarvis@usa.net, or mail a check to 587 Hemlock Ave., Millbrae, CA 94030.

Accommodations:
We will be staying in Housekeeping Camp cabins.  The cabins have three concrete walls and a canvas fourth wall and roof.  Each cabin has bunks for 4 people, electric lights, and a picnic table outside.  Bathrooms and showers are in separate buildings near by.

Meals:
We will provide food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast/lunch on Sunday.  Each car will be responsible for their own meals on the trips to and from Yosemite.

Saturday Activities:
Half Dome Hike - This is the most famous big hike in Yosemite with lots of great views, but it is a tough hike - 17 miles round trip and almost 5000 vertical feet.  We need an experienced hiker to volunteer to lead this hike.
Panorama Trail - I'm planning to lead another long hike from the valley, up to Glacier Point, along the Panorama Trail and down the John Muir Trail.
"Ice Cream" Hike - If there is interest, this can be any less strenuous activity, not only in search of ice cream.  We will need someone to volunteer to lead this activity if it is to happen.  Ask me for ideas if you're not familiar with Yosemite.
Any other activities - feel free to suggest any other activities you might want to do such as bike riding, horseback riding, sight seeing, etc.

Transportation:
We will carpool to Yosemite from the bay area with different cars leaving from different places and times.  We will help organize carpools, but the details of each car's departure, meals on the road, gas money, and $20 park entrance fee are to be worked out by each car individually.

What to Bring:
clothes for warm and cool weather
warm jacket
toiletries
hiking boots or sturdy shoes if going on a long hike
hat
sunglasses
sunscreen
sleeping bag (or sheets and blankets if you cannot get a sleeping bag)
pillow
flashlight
anything else you might want to bring like a bike, guitar, cards, etc. (just be sure your car has space!)
