Dear Friends,
Come close out the 2009 year by joining us at our end of the year power building party and membership fundraiser.
2009 has much we can celebrate, indeed, we have come a long way. Ten years ago the Mn Dream Act began as a conversation, and now, after years of coordination, unification, and sacrifice this dream has become a reality. Under the new the Flat Tuition law, thousands of Latino and immigrant youth are able to access a college education at lower tuition rates. It was also years ago that we began building relationships in the city of Worthington, and today the Matricula Consular Mexicana is accepted by the local police department as an official form of identification, thereby helping to improve the living conditions of many immigrant families and workers.
We also need your help to build the power that we need to win in 2010. Immigration reform is projected to begin in the first part of the coming year - just as legislators and their staffers begin to draft countless pages of proposals, our communities too must prepare, coordinate, and unify to stand strong for immigrant rights.
Joins us this Wednesday to learn about MIFN's work, meet our board and staff, register to become an active member, and strategize to help ensure that in 2010 this country can be a place where all immigrant families and youth - regardless of immigration status - can live happily, freely, and without fear of persecution or discrimination.
Please RSVP by emailing Denise at intern@immigrantfreedomnetwork.org or by replying on our evite page.
A $10 suggested donation is encouraged at the door. Our event program is as follows:
