During the Torah Service our conversion class will participate fully in all the traditions of the Torah. Individuals who are converting will do separate Aliyahs followed by a group Aliyah.
After Saturday, they will present themselves to a Beit Din of at least three Jews, who are known as honorable Jews. The Beit Din will question their Jewish knowledge.
The culmination of the conversion process is the need for a mikvah, which is a purification bath of total immersion. It can be done in any stream of running water or the ocean. Each person who goes through the mikvah needs a sponsor. Any person in our Congregation who wishes to sponsor one of our converts should contact Cantor Larry or Rabbi Ben.
Our Conversion Class' Mikvah will take place on the first day of Rosh Hashanah when the congregation goes to Pelican Point at Carlsbad Beach for Tashlich at 2pm.
