Another fun IxDA Los Angeles event! This festive salon will be about the art of storytelling and held in the larger-than-life binoculars of the DDB Agency. As interaction designers, we should always be honing our storytelling skills. Steve Portigal spoke about this need in his article on Core77 called "Design Research: Practice noticing stuff and telling stories," http://www.core77.com/hack2school/portigal.asp

This salon will focus on how we can use storytelling in our design practice to create better interactions and communicate our designs in a way that resonates with our audiences. We will hear from seasoned, storytelling experts over yummy food, cookies and hot cocoa. Get into the holiday spirit with us as we learn from our terrific speakers.

Michael Blakely and Anna-Marie White from Disney will be sharing their fantastic techniques for using storyboards to communicate design. They will explain how and when to incorporate storyboarding into your design process to make the most impact. Jay Bushman will share his expertise as producer of The Loose-Fish Project, which takes classic stories and re-imagines them for the web. He breathes new life into classic tales. Think Pride & Prejudice told via Facebook!

Join us to learn how storytelling techniques can bring YOUR designs to life in the minds of your clients and users.

70 person max. Please RSVP "Maybe" to be wait-listed.

LOGISTICS & PARKING
DDB Los Angeles is located in Frank Gehry's Binocular Building in Venice, California.
http://www.ddbla.com/get_in_touch/our_offices/

Parking is free in the DDB garage. From Main Street - drive into the binoculars building. Most employees leave by 7pm so there should be plenty of space but carpooling is recommended. Park on the 1st level (level A). Take the elevator to the 1st floor. (It's a secure building so you have to check in on the 1st floor.) From there, the guard will let you go the 3rd floor.

The Interaction Design Association (IxDA) is a member-supported organization committed to serving the needs of the international interaction design community. Subscribe to the IxDA discussion list to discuss issues, theories and methods about interaction design practice.
