Join us for dinner at Maxie's, where Mackenzie Sposeto, a member of the Waukee Police Department, will speak to us about a children's "boot camp" program and self-defense for women.
Mackenzie is originally from Sioux City, graduated from Iowa State University and the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy, and began her career with the Urbandale Police Department. She serves on the Iowa Crime Prevention Association Board, McGruff House Project, TRIAD, Strengthening Women, and Safety City and is a school resource officer. Her husband is a Des Moines Fire Department medic; they have three children.
The menu: Your choice of 8 oz beef filet with baked potato and vegetable; chicken teriyaki with rice pilaf and vegetable; or tater-crusted cod with rice pilaf and vegetable. All meals served with onion rings, tossed salad, rolls, non-alcoholic beverages, and strawberry shortcake or turtle cheesecake. Cash bar with a special MWN cosmo!
RSVP by 12 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, including your guests. (Indicate guest names and entree choices in the comments field when you reply or use the Invite More feature to send the Evite directly to your guests!)
Members pay $25 at the door or online using PayPal - we'll send you a link when you sign up. (Guests may attend two meetings in a 12-month period for $25 each; $35 for the third meeting.) Cancellations will not be accepted after Monday, Feb. 14. Reservations that are not honored or cancelled by the deadline will be billed.
