Evite's core product offering of free online invitations greatly expanded with Evite 2.0 to include a suite of enhanced tools for people who want to create Private Events (social gatherings given by a friend or family member), Public Events (public functions created for and by people interested in promoting or attending events) or Activity Listings (a get together for people who share a common hobby or interest).

In addition to Evite's online invitation service complete with RSVP management, event reminders, polling, payment collection, design customization features and an address book, the service now provides users with the ability to create, promote and find local events and activities as well as share information about themselves to the other attendees through My Info Pages. The My Evite page also contains recommended local event and activity listings based on user preferences expressed in the My Profile page.

Upon registering online at www.evite.com, users will now be able to select the following options:

• Create An Event: Users can create an Evite for a Private or a Public Event. Users can also post Activity Listings for things such as tennis, workshops, volunteering, etc. Features for planning events include creation tools, RSVP management, event reminders, polling, payment collection, design customization features and an address book.
• My Evite: Through the creation of My Info pages, My Evite is the place where users can display personal interests to the Evite community. This section also features a customized list of events and activities to attend based on the user's interests and location. Users have the option to include links to their My Info page next to their RSVP's for Public and Private Events, thereby stimulating community interaction and buzz around that event. Other new features include a personal calendar and the ability to upload a photo.
• Find Local Events: Users have the option to browse events through an easy to use Local Events Directory, enabling local performers, artists, venues, community groups and other public event hosts to promote their events to the site’s active five million users. Users can also view the "Most Popular Get Togethers", searching by zip code and radius, or browsing by six pre-selected categories including Community, Special Interests, Leisure, Lifestyle, Nightlife or Sports. (This tool will become more robust as beta users post public events and activities in the directory. A full directory will be available when final product launches.)
