old-school halloween activities

Put down the cell phone and party like it's last century. These activities are both inexpensive and easy to put together.

Pumpkin Carving
• Cover a table with newspaper, and put out bowls or garbage cans for the pumpkin guts--but be sure to save some seeds for toasting and snacking on!

• Supply markers, knives and large spoons for scooping out seeds.

• Inspire and assist your guests by cutting out templates for jack-o'-lantern faces, black cats, ghosts and other simple designs.

Apple Bobbing
• Fill a large, clean bucket with water and large apples. Guests take turns trying to pick up an apple using just their mouths.

• Blindfold bobbers to make things more difficult.

• Fill fondue pots with caramel sauce and chocolate sauce. After you finish bobbing, dip the apple pieces into the sauces for a sweet snack.
