old-school halloween activities

Old-school Halloween activities like pumpkin carving and apple bobbing are always in fashion.
Put down the cell phone and party like it's last century. These activities are both inexpensive and easy to put together.

Pumpkin Carving
Cover a table with newspaper, and put out bowls or garbage cans for the pumpkin guts--but be sure to save some seeds for toasting and snacking on!

Supply markers, knives and large spoons for scooping out seeds.

Inspire and assist your guests by cutting out templates for jack-o'-lantern faces, black cats, ghosts and other simple designs.

Apple Bobbing
Fill a large, clean bucket with water and large apples. Guests take turns trying to pick up an apple using just their mouths.

Blindfold bobbers to make things more difficult.

Fill fondue pots with caramel sauce and chocolate sauce. After you finish bobbing, dip the apple pieces into the sauces for a sweet snack.
